OCM is charged with educating communities across New York State regarding the adult-use, medical and cannabinoid hemp industries. The New York State adult-use cannabis license application will be available starting October 4, for the cultivator, processor, distributor, microbusiness, and retail dispensary license types.
OCM’s External Affairs unit is engaging in a 15-stop tour informing and educating every region of the State on the license types and application process. These forums will consist of a robust presentation and Q&A portion. With a goal of awarding 50% of all licenses to Social and Economic Equity (SEE) applicants, OCM will actively promote the participation of individuals from communities disproportionately impacted by cannabis prohibition policies, minority and women owned businesses, distressed farmers, and service-disabled veterans.
