CGRF Grantees

The Office is proud to announce the 50 inaugural grantees whose dedication and vision are transforming communities across New York State–specifically those most affected by decades of harsh federal and state drug policies. Through these innovative projects, locally based not-for-profits are uplifting youth, empowering families and creating brighter more equitable futures.

The Award Book highlights each of the funded projects and celebrates the vision, leadership, and community partnerships that make this work possible. All 50 awards serve New York’s youth, highlighting the fund’s commitment to improving opportunities for the next generation of leaders.

Awards at a Glance

CGRF is delivering real impact across New York State by reinvesting in communities most harmed by past federal and state drug policies.
The first round of awards reaches every economic development region in New York State, reflecting broad geographic distribution and our strong commitment to equity in both urban and rural communities.
  • 451 total applications were submitted. 340 of those applications were deemed eligible for funding and were evaluated by a panel of qualified, independent reviewers.
  • $5 million in total funding for Round 1:
    • $2,600,000 invested in Mental Health Programming
    • $1,900,000 invested in Workforce Development
    • $500,000 invested in Housing Stability
  • 100% Youth Focused - All 50 successful awardees will pursue projects that serve youth and improve mental health outcomes, workforce development, and stable housing.
  • 38 of 50 support programs located in Priority Counties—areas with high youth poverty and the largest concentrations of Communities Disproportionately Impacted (CDIs) by prior cannabis prohibition.
  • Awardees will provide services across a total of 215 ZIP codes, with 41 of 50 awards directly serving CDI neighborhoods.

The 50 inaugural awards are creating opportunities, expanding resources, and building stronger futures for their communities. This is only the beginning of a multi-year journey to reinvest in communities and expand opportunity across New York State.
